MARRIAGE PREPARATION PROGRAM
FOR ENGAGED COUPLES
Out of all marriage preparation programs St. Helen’s in Home Pre-Cana program is strongly recommended by the diocese. It gives engaged couples the opportunity to view married life in a realistic way with its difficulties and its many joys.
Married team couples share their own values, attitudes and experiences in the relaxed atmosphere of their homes. The engaged couples are free to share their own feelings and concerns with one another. The main objective is to help the couples develop communication skills to bring them closer to each other and closer to God.
The program consists of six sessions. Two of the sessions are held in the church; four in a married couples home. Topics discussed are communication, conscience formation, love & sexuality, and spirituality.
Engaged couples are asked to register at their rectory one year in advance so they may attend the in home pre-cana program at least six months before their wedding day. St. Helen marriage preparation program is open to all parishes in the Brooklyn, Queens Diocese.
